We have partnered with Vetiver Girl : Kamara Williams since last season, and we couldn't be more proud of how far along she has come in her career. We first found her on Instagram for her fun and quirky style, and immediately fell in love with who she was.
Just last week, she rocked her favorite Vetiver pieces at NYFW in her Love Is The Drug Slip Dress and Between The Sheets Shirt Dress. P.S, her image also made it onto Refinery 29's "Raddest Fashion Week Beauty Trends That Aren't On The Runway". We also sat down with her and asked a few personal questions:
1. How did you get into blogging?
Friends and family would always compliment my style and ask for style tips. It sparked the idea to start a blog to share my style and show women how to have great style. More importantly, I wanted women I wanted to inspire women to go after their dreams while looking their best!
2. Do you ever find any pressures or difficulties being in the fashion industry? If so, how do you deal with them?
Being a part of a creative industry is sometimes difficult because it's so fast paced. I sometimes feel like I'm not creating enough or being creative enough. But I always remind myself that, just like everyone else, I'm on my own path and being creative takes time. I'm learning to be patient with myself and the process of being creative.
3. What are some trends or styles that you find are timeless each season?
Some timeless styles each season are structured pieces like blazers, trench coats, and bright colors which has been going strong a few seasons now.
4. What do you love about your Vetiver pieces and how did you incorporate them into your daily wardrobe (or NYFW wardrobe)?
I love that Vetiver pieces are minimal but possess high style impact. They're also really versatile which makes it easy to slip into my day to day wardrobe. I like wearing Vetiver as the focal point of an outfit and style other pieces around it.
